Here’s an update. I had a conversation with Dan about the artwork and he assured me that he would be able to pick up the pace. I’m happy with the way that it’s turning out. If he is able to finish it in a reasonable timeframe and Wayne and I can get the document together in time, we’ll hit our planned release date. Much earlier this year, I had a little dream that it might be out in time for Christmas, but I quickly threw that idea out. Of course, I’m not going to announce a formal date here and now in case I’m totally wrong, but I will say that the last two Fight books have come out in springtime. So do with that what you will.
The length of the book may be surprisingly long. We have not established the format we are using for the characters, so it’s too early to tell, but based on the length of the Word document at the moment, it looks to be as long as the core rules. Fight! characters can take up a lot of space! The major downside of this, since the book will be in color, is that the POD hardcopy version of it will be cost-prohibitive to all except those of you who really, really love the game. The only reasonable alternative I can offer is to make a grayscale version available.
If you have a character featured in the book, expect an email from me soon asking for some more details to fill out the sheet.
Anything you are really hoping to see in Challengers? Let me know – it may not be too late.
Back to work now. If I don’t get back here before the end of the year, Merry Christmas to all those out in Divine Madness Land.
